FOREST PARK — The city of Forest Park has launched of its Homeowner Maintenance Enhancements Program to help residents ages 62 and older with essential home repairs or modifications.

The initiative — approved unanimously by Mayor Angelyne Butler and the City Council — allocates $1.3 million in American Rescue Plan Act grant funding to help cover the cost of eligible repair work ranging from roofing, painting, and minor electrical work to ADA improvements, siding, and more.

Sudbury news: Judge rules against couple facing $400K home repair bill


A judge has ruled against a Sudbury couple who sued the former owners of their house when major problems emerged with the foundation.


The couple sued for $400,000, the current cost of repairing the damage. But the judge in the case ruled that, even if the lawsuit had been successful, they would only be entitled to $104,000, the estimate for how much repairs would have cost if they were made as soon as problems were discovered.


Problems began not long after the woman purchased the home in July 2014, which she shared with her husband.

APCHA moves home repair grant proposal forward | News

The Aspen-Pitkin County Housing Authority Board of Directors sent a new home repairs grant pilot program to the Pitkin Board of County Commissioners and the Aspen City Council for approval. 

The program would award grants of up to $5,000 to homeowners to assist with repairing critical damage on their homes. The grants would not need to be repaid, and would only serve as funding assistance and a starting point for a pilot program.

A car that flew off a road and crashed through the second story of a home has left an elderly couple homeless.

A white Subaru went off the road behind the home of Penny Arant, 75, and her husband Robert, 69, and landed through above the porch through the upstairs window. Their home in Colfax, California, sits next to a turn after a long straight road.

Olean Local Development Corp. approves first home repair award | News

OLEAN — The first loan and grant award by the Olean Local Development Corp. will be helping a homeowner fix up their property this summer.

The OLDC board unanimously approved a loan and grant package for up to $10,000 to help a city homeowner on Thursday, the first of an expected five to receive assistance in the first year of the Exterior Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program.
